baby measuring 2 weeks behind on growth scan

My last scan he's measuring a couple weeks behind and my doctor wants to do a repeat scan to ensure he is growing properly. I had painful cramping early in this pregnancy and spotting at 10 weeks and now I'm 35w3d. I now get weekly ultrasounds and NSTs. However I was scanned 10 days later - when should have been 7+3 per my calculations (ignoring the scan before). We believe you should always know the source of the information you're seeing. How can my caregiver tell how big my baby is? mine is only 28 days. With me they induced at the end for safety reasons but we weren't really concerned.
